Musik för speldosor (2017)

For this work I purchased four identical music boxes containing the song “Happy Birthday”. I then removed some of the pegs on the music boxes, creating four distinct reductions of the melody. The four music boxes were later attached to a wooden box, with piezo microphones beneath each music box. The piece was then performed by four people, each one playing a different music box, and the sound of the four music boxes was spatialised in the 29 channel speaker dome Klangkupolen.
